Sneak Peek Up Date: 2012 BMW 1 Series M Coupe

BMW's upcoming 1 Series Coupe just can't keep its camouflage on, especially in a metropolitan locale such as Paris. The German automaker recently unveiled these shots of the 1 Series M Coupe not very far from the doors of the Paris Motor Show, allowing the hot new sports couple to flash a little wheel and exhaust for the camera.

So what's new from the previous spy photos we've seen? We can clearly see the BBS-style alloys in these shots, along with the 1 Series M Coupe's lovely polished quad-exit exhaust system. The rear wraparound bumper features new vents (presumably to aid in brake cooling and/or aerodynamics) and the front fascia also gets a sporty-looking makeover. The overall profile of the car is largely covered with some tight-fitting black camouflage, but a subtle, almost E46 M3 CSL-like "duckbill" rear lip spoiler and some mildly flared fenders are clearly evident.

Despite the camouflage, the 1 Series M Coupe looks like it's virtually production-ready to us. So when do we get to see it? Since it wasn't at Paris, we're guessing Geneva will mark the world debut as it's the next Euro-centric show to arrive. Of course as we know more, so will you. And that includes details on what's lurking under the hood (a turbo-four perhaps?), though rumors suggest only a manual transmission will be available.
